About Dr. Aparna Hegde
Dr. Aparna Hegde is a Consultant Urogynecologist and Gynecologist with over three decades of clinical experience. She specializes in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery, and is the founder and director of the Center for Urogynecology & Pelvic Health in Delhi. Additionally, she serves as the founding director of the forthcoming Tata Center for Urogynecology & Pelvic Health at Cama Hospital, Mumbai.
Her academic credentials include an MBBS, MD, DNB, FCPS and DGO from the University of Mumbai, and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. Dr. Hegde completed the IUGA International Fellowship in Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is a life member of several professional bodies, including the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India, the Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynecological Society, and the International Urogynecological Association.
In her practice, Dr. Hegde manages conditions such as uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome, and related pelvic floor disorders. She performs a range of gynecological surgeries, including hysterectomy, tubectomy, sterilization, ovary removal and cancer‑related procedures. Beyond clinical work, she is an active researcher with numerous national and international publications, and has received awards such as best paper honors at the AUGS meeting and FOGSI young scientist awards. Dr. Hegde also founded ARMMAN, an NGO that leverages technology for maternal and child health programs across 16 states, reaching nearly two million women and children.
