Dr. Amitabh Gupta

Dr. Amitabh Gupta is a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 27 years of overall experience, of which 19 years are dedicated to specialist neurosurgical practice. He is recognized for his expertise in managing brain and spine disorders and currently consults at Spine and Brain Clinic in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

He completed his MBBS from Bangalore University in 1999, followed by an MS in General Surgery from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow University in 2003, and an MCh in Neuro Surgery from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum in 2006. His training includes neurosurgical training at Sree Chitra Tirunal and further specialization at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.

Dr. Gupta’s clinical practice encompasses a broad range of neurosurgical conditions such as brain tumors, intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), epilepsy, and various spinal pathologies. He is skilled in performing complex procedures including tumor resection, aneurysm clipping, AVM excision, deep brain stimulation, endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgeries, as well as functional neurosurgery and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Since 2006 he has held senior consultant positions at Fortis, BL Kapoor, Max, Indian Spinal Injuries Center and other institutions, and served as Head of Neurosurgery at Batra Hospital. He pursued advanced fellowships in neuro‑oncology and functional neurosurgery at the University of Virginia and Allegheny General Hospital, USA, and completed skull‑base training at Ohio State Medical Center and a neurotrauma fellowship at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. His contributions are acknowledged by the Neurotrauma Award (2012) and memberships in the Neurological Society of India, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Skull Base Surgery Society of India, Neurotrauma Society of India and Indian Society of Neuro‑Oncology. He is registered with the Delhi Medical Council (Reg. No. 33107, 2007).
