Dr. Ashok Damir

Dr. Ashok Damir is a podiatry expert and Head of Diabetic Foot & Wound Care Management at BLK-Max Super Specialty Hospital, Pusa Road, Delhi. He also serves as HOD & Senior Consultant for Diabetes Foot and Wound Care at Fortis C-DOC Hospital and holds senior consultant roles at Moolchand Medicity. His career spans over 37 years, with 33 years dedicated to diabetology and podiatry.

He earned his MBBS and MD in General Medicine from the University of Rajasthan (Rabindranath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur) in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He received specialized training in Diabetes & Foot Medicine at the Dr William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, USA, and was awarded a Foot Fellowship there in 2008.

His clinical focus includes advanced diabetic wound management, pressure offloading techniques, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and stem cell transplantation. He has worked with Dr Arun Bal at SL Raheja Hospital, Mumbai, and has been nominated by the World Diabetic Foundation and Diabetic Foot Society of India as Regional Co‑ordinator of the National Wound Care Project, where he trains postgraduate doctors. Passionate about preventing lower‑limb amputations, he organizes CMEs and workshops, publishes articles, and authored the book 'Madhumeh - Kaise Jiyen Masti Se' to educate patients and primary care physicians. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the American Diabetes Association, European Wound Management Association, and Diabetic Foot Society of India, and holds registrations with the Delhi Medical Council and Medical Council of India.
