Dr. Nimesh G Desai

Dr. Nimesh G Desai is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over four decades of experience in mental health. He completed his MBBS in 1979, followed by a DPM in Psychiatry in 1981 and an MD in Psychiatry in 1982, all from Gujarat University. His career spans premier institutions: he worked as a Clinician, Teacher, and Researcher at NIMHANS, Bengaluru (1982–1988) and AIIMS, Delhi (1988–1998), then spent 23 years developing the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) in Delhi, where he served as Director before retiring.

Dr. Desai specializes in psychiatry, psychotherapy, geriatric psychiatry, and psychology. His clinical expertise covers depression, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder, insomnia, migraine, and alcoholism. He is a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and the Indian Psychiatric Society, and has received honors such as the Bharat Swasthya Samman (2010).

Since 2021, Dr. Desai has been practicing as an Independent Consultant Psychiatrist at his private clinic, Dr. Nimesh G. Desai Clinic, located in Swasthya Vihar, Delhi. He sees patients by prior appointment, offering comprehensive mental health care with a focus on high-quality patient interaction.
