About Dr. Prof J M Hans
Prof. (Dr) J. M. Hans is a Gold Medallist ENT specialist who completed his MS ENT at the prestigious PGI Chandigarh. He pioneered the Veria technique in cochlear implant surgery over two decades ago and has successfully performed more than 3,000 cochlear implants. He was the first ENT surgeon in India to introduce auditory brain stem implants for children.
His academic qualifications include an MBBS from Meerut University (1978), an MS in ENT from PGI Chandigarh (1983), and a Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO) from the University of Delhi (1981). He holds fellowships from the House Ear Institute in the United States and the Bionic Ear Institute in Australia. Among his honours, he received the Padmashri award in 2005 from the President of India and has served as the Honorary ENT Consultant to the Prime Minister.
With 48 years of overall experience, of which 45 years are as a specialist, Prof. Hans formerly served as Professor and Head of the ENT Department at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. He currently directs the Dr. Hans Centre for ENT, Hearing care and Vertigo in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi, where he offers Bone Anchored Hearing Aids, Bonebridge and Vibrant Soundbridge implants. Throughout his career he has mentored numerous ENT surgeons across India and the SAARC region.
