Dr. Sagar Bhattad

Dr. Sagar Bhattad is a distinguished Pediatric Rheumatologist recognized as India's first DM super-specialist in Pediatric Rheumatology and Immunology. He serves as a consultant at Manipal Hospital in Yelahanka, Bangalore, where he provides specialized care for children with complex rheumatological and immunological disorders.

He completed his MBBS from JNMC, Belgaum in 2009, followed by an MD in Pediatrics from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2013. He further pursued a DM in Pediatric Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology at the same institute, training under Prof. Surjit Singh, a pioneer in the field. He also undertook an observership at the Gaslini Institute in Genoa, Italy, a leading European referral center for Pediatric Rheumatology.

Dr. Bhattad's expertise encompasses childhood arthritis, vasculitis, primary immune deficiency syndromes, HIV/AIDS-related complications, nephrotic syndrome, and Henoch-Schönlein purpura. He is skilled in administering intra-articular injections for juvenile arthritis and has extensive training in laboratory immunology. His clinical interests also include allergy testing and immunization therapy.

With 17 years of overall medical experience and 13 years as a specialist, Dr. Bhattad has held positions such as Senior Resident in DM at PGIMER (2013-2015). He is a member of several prestigious bodies including the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Indian Rheumatology Association, Clinical Immunology Society, Pediatric Rheumatology European Society, and Indian Society for Primary Immune Deficiency. He was awarded a Silver Medal in Pediatrics in 2014 and is registered with the Karnataka Medical Council.
