Dr. Sonia Sharma

Dr. Sonia Sharma is a Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist with over two decades of clinical experience. She currently practices at Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital in Model Town, Delhi, and is associated with the Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute (PSRI). Her clinical focus includes a wide spectrum of pediatric kidney disorders.

She completed her MBBS from Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi in 2005, followed by a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra in 2008. She further trained in pediatric nephrology at AIIMS, New Delhi, where she gained extensive experience in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and renal biopsies.

Dr. Sharma specializes in treating nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, congenital kidney diseases, acute kidney injury, tubular disorders, and chronic kidney disease. She also manages children requiring dialysis and transplant, and performs ultrasound-guided renal biopsies. Her expertise extends to infant and child nutrition.

With 18 years as a specialist, she has served as a Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist at PSRI from 2009 to 2015. She is a member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) and the International Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN), and has received a fellowship from the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA). She has published research in national and international journals and won a best poster award at an international pediatric nephrology conference.
