Dr. Karthikeyan Damodharan

Dr. Karthikeyan Damodharan is the Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at MIOT International Hospital, a 900-bed quaternary care center in Chennai. He leads a busy radiology department performing over 100 CT and MRI scans daily, with a special interest in cross-sectional imaging and interventional radiology services.

He earned his MBBS from Madras Medical College in 2000, followed by MRCP (UK) from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2003 and FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologists, UK in 2007. After completing his certificate of specialist training in 2010, he pursued a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic, USA.

His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of image-guided interventions including uterine artery embolization, angiography via radial approach, CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies and drainages, and vascular embolization procedures. He has particular experience managing complex vascular conditions such as AV graft thrombosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and uterine fibroids.

Dr. Damodharan's career spans international practice across the UK, Singapore, and India. He served as Senior Consultant at Singapore General Hospital for seven years and as Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology at Sengkang General Hospital before returning to Chennai in 2020. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and presented at numerous international conferences. He is registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and is a member of the Indian Chest Society.
