Dr. Kothari Ashutosh Shirish

Dr. Ashutosh Kothari is an internationally renowned onco-surgeon who has dedicated his career to breast cancer, oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, and benign breast disease. With 38 years of overall experience and 31 years as a specialist, he completed his super-specialty training in surgical oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, followed by advanced training at the Hedley Atkins Breast Unit, Guy's & St. Thomas Hospital, London, under Prof. Ian Fentiman.

Dr. Kothari holds MBBS, MS (General Surgery), DNB (General Surgery), and MNAMS (General Surgery) qualifications. He is a strong advocate for early detection and played a pivotal role in establishing rapid-access, one-stop comprehensive breast care clinics in the UK. He introduced LYMPHA surgery at Guy's Hospital for lymphoedema prevention, with outcomes published in high-impact journals. He has one of the largest experiences in immediate whole breast reconstruction in Europe and serves as an advisor to breast implant and medical device companies.

A core faculty member at international courses and conferences, Dr. Kothari has been a principal investigator in multiple first-in-man and multicenter breast cancer trials. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to international textbooks on breast cancer surgery. He currently practices at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Girgaon, Mumbai, offering consultations Monday through Saturday.
