Dr. Yash Gulati

Dr. Yash Gulati is an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon and Padma Shri awardee, holding qualifications MS Orthopaedics, MCh Orthopaedics and MBBS. He is the youngest orthopedic surgeon to have received the Padma Shri award from the President of India.

He completed his MBBS and MS - Orthopaedics at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, earned his MCh in Orthopaedics from the University of Liverpool, England, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.

Dr. Gulati’s expertise spans spine surgery and joint replacement. In spine surgery he is skilled in minimally invasive techniques, microdiscectomy for slip disc, endoscopic disc surgery, correction of scoliosis and spondylolisthesis, treatment of spinal canal stenosis and spine fusion, including minimally invasive transforaminal interbody fusion (MITLIF). In joint replacement he has performed primary and revision knee and hip replacements for over 20 years, with a large series of total hip replacements for sickle cell disease, and has conducted live demonstration surgeries at international conferences.

He has served as Senior Consultant at the Division of Spine Surgery and Division of Joint Replacement, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi for 17 years, and now acts as Advisor Orthopaedics for the Apollo Group of Hospitals across India and Coordinator Orthopaedics for Apollo‑Spectra Hospitals in Delhi, Kanpur and Jaipur. Dr. Gulati is a Visiting Senior Specialist at RAK Hospital, UAE, and has previously held leadership roles at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, St. James Hospital Dublin, BLK Super Specialty Hospital New Delhi, and served as Adjunct Professor at Indira Gandhi Open University. A life member of numerous orthopaedic associations, he has been President of the Delhi Orthopaedic Association, organized many conferences, and been appointed Honorary Consultant to the Indian Armed Forces under the Sadbhavana programme. He has facilitated medical tourism, provided medical cover for cricket test matches, one‑day internationals, world cup hockey tournaments, and served on the advisory medical committee for the Commonwealth Games. Dr. Gulati chairs the Orthopaedic Implants Committee of the Indian Bureau of Standards, anchored a Doordarshan health show in 1999, and has been featured in international media such as the Sunday Times London and ITV documentaries.
